The Studio's Littlest Yogini has Passed -- Rest in Peace, Muffin
Muffin, Véronique's much loved miniature doberman pincer, passed away in the arms of her loving friend in the early hours of Dec. 28th. Studio regulars will miss being greeted by her, and hearing her nails clicking by on the cork floor during Savasana.
The Refuge & Bodhisattva Vows with
Lama Yeshe Gyamtso Saturday April 14th and Sunday April 15th Sanctuary Yoga in conjunction with the Palchen Buddhist Study Group of Kalamazoo is honored to host a weeknend with Lama Yeshe Gyamtso.
Learn about these two central vows for committing to the Buddhist path. Taking refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha is a ceremony where one makes a formal commitment to follow the path of the Buddha in one's life—becoming a Buddhist. With the Refuge Vow, we make a commitment to the path of sanity in our own lives. With the Bodhisattva Vow we expand our commitment and vow to help all sentient beings. This program will be beneficial to both beginners and people who already have taken vows and want to enter more deeply into them. Upon request there will be interviews with Lama Yeshe on Saturday morning. Go here for details. |

Announcing Yoga for Seniors! The studio is thoroughly delighted to welcome Mary Beth Thomas, an experienced local teacher, to Sanctuary Yoga. Winter is often a time of decreased activity as we age. A regular yoga practice can be the perfect antidote! Mary Beth's yoga is a gentle practice that is meant to enhance balance and restore lost flexibility. Please give her new mid-morning class a try and see if it doesn't work wonders -- perhaps it will put a spring in your step before Spring arrives in the air! The class meets Tuesdays 10:00 am - 11:00 am. |
Your feedback about how we're doing is always welcome! Please do let us know what you think by using the Contact Us form on the Contact page, or, along the same lines, there is a now a little Suggestion Box on the desk outside of the studio room. And finally, you can always see us, and talk to us, on Facebook!
