Véronique
This class is for everyone so options are offered in all poses and flows in order to accommodate students at every level. Come and join this once a week class that is very popular and has been taught by Véronique for many years.
Note - often Sunday Yoga is outside on the lawn and online (zoom) so there is not need to register.
Yin Yoga focuses on longer holds of the postures in order to access and release the deeper layers of the body. The holds last between 2 and 5 minutes which allows a steady and peaceful focus on the joints. This class is slow and meditative, having a deeply calming effect.
Flow classes weave and sequence all kind of postures in either a very slow pace to stay present with each move in and out of the Asanas (poses), or, at a very dynamic pace to keep you moving. Regardless of pace, Vinyasa style links the breath to the movements. Level 1 is slightly more introductory than level 2, but both are intermediate.

Chiezan
This class will give participants an opportunity to learn and practice the traditional Zen sitting meditation called Shikantaza. Shikantaza encourages an upright posture either sitting on a cushion or in a chair. Practitioners will learn to begin prioritizing their awareness and looking more deeply into this complex body/mind we have been born into.
After meditation there is an optional dharma study/group discussion of some Zen literature for an hour. All are welcome -- teachings are freely given but your donations are greatly appreciated to help support the space and Sanctuary Yoga. |
Kathe
Equilibrium is a Vinyasa flow class. This class is available to newer students as well as experienced practitioners. Throughout the class, opportunities to modify poses as needed will be offered with the encouragement to feel the flow of prana. Kathe teaches with a sense of humor and great respect for the amazing beauty and complexity of our human bodies and minds. Please come and enjoy!
