continuing online, but adding an in-person option!
We will surely miss our recent outdoor Yoga venue, but we are thrilled at the prospect of initiating an in-studio experience for at least the limited number of students (seven) that we can accommodate while complying with Michigan´s distancing and indoor meeting rules for gyms, etc.
Véronique’s classes are going to be taught as a hybrid of online and in-studio classes. This provide two advantages:

Véronique’s classes are going to be taught as a hybrid of online and in-studio classes. This provide two advantages:
- All of the previously outdoor-only classes with be joining the existing online classes using Zoom.
- All of Véronique’s classes will now have a new in-studio attendance option with significant changes for COVID-19 safety that hopefully will continue to provide those who desire it, a valuable in-person practice experience!
If you would love to return to an in-person experience, but aren´t sure about the safety, here are a couple of suggestions that may help:
- Attend an online class and see for yourself if the studio setup looks safe (taking into account the totality of safety measures described here).
- Speak up! Let Véronique know your concerns and give her your input to improve student safety. Her contact info is at the bottom of every page on this site..
Community Yoga back outside for Sunday Nov. 8th!
OK - ready for this? ... weather permitting we're gonna try an Outdoor Sunday Community Yoga - Indian Summer edition! The weather will be upper-60s and Véronique just can´t pass up the opportunity to get out one more time 😁
Since we’ll be outside, there won't be an ONLINE option tomorrow (Nov. 8th)!

Véronique
Yin Yoga focuses on longer holds of the postures in order to access and release the deeper layers of the body. The holds last between 2 and 5 minutes which allows a steady and peaceful focus on the joints. This class is slow and meditative, having a deeply calming effect.
An on-going gentle yoga class for students desiring plenty of warm up, easing into and out of the poses for those of us who are less "bendy". Perfect for students recovering from injury or enduring chronic biomechanical issues (e.g., knees, lower back, etc.).
Flow classes weave and sequence all kind of postures in either a very slow pace to stay present with each move in and out of the Asanas (poses), or, at a very dynamic pace to keep you moving. Regardless of pace, Vinyasa style links the breath to the movements. Level 1 is slightly more introductory than level 2, but both are intermediate.
This class is for everyone so options are offered in all poses and flows in order to accommodate students at every level. Come and join this once a week class that is very popular and has been taught by Véronique for many years.
There is no registration for this class.
Offered the last Friday of the month (October through April), see the Workshops/Events page for details. Pre-registration is required.
Offered by Véronique on various Fridays of the month (although, never on the last Friday which is reserved for the Monthly Restorative Workshop as described above). To see which of the Friday workshops are planned with a description, see the Workshops/Events and the Schedule page for details. Pre-registration is required. |
Chiezan
This class will give participants an opportunity to learn and practice the traditional Zen sitting meditation called Shikantaza. Shikantaza encourages an upright posture either sitting on a cushion or in a chair. Practitioners will learn to begin prioritizing their awareness and looking more deeply into this complex body/mind we have been born into.
After meditation there is an optional dharma study/group discussion of some Zen literature for an hour. All are welcome -- teachings are freely given but your donations are greatly appreciated to help support the space and Sanctuary Yoga. |
Kathe
Equilibrium is a Vinyasa flow class. This class is available to newer students as well as experienced practitioners. Throughout the class, opportunities to modify poses as needed will be offered with the encouragement to feel the flow of prana. Kathe teaches with a sense of humor and great respect for the amazing beauty and complexity of our human bodies and minds. Please come and enjoy!
This Yoga class is for all levels. |
